Velo Watching a Squirrel

Here I am almost ready to go off to college. I'm very mature now. In this picture I am looking at a squirrel in a park in Big Bear Lake, California. Most labs would be chasing it up the closest tree, but because of my training I just keep a good eye on it.

Hi,

I'm Velo. This is when I was little and in my early months of training with my Dad. We call this cradling which is one of the first things I learned to do and when I'm with my blind person they will do this so they can check my toes and ears and other parts of me and make sure I'm okay. I am really good at "Cradling Up".

My name's Lojack and I'm a very small (for now) male black lab that's planning to move in with these people that live in Manhattan Beach in about a month. Not sure what they're like but there's another dog in here for training who's name is Velo that said he lived with them when he was little and really enjoyed them. 

Just so I have something to compare them to I'm going to stay with another family for a week when I leave the nice warm nursery here at the guide dog school on November 26th. My other people will pick me up there on December 4th.

I haven't hooked up with the photographer yet so here's a few pictures of my mentor Velo to gaze at while you wait. I'll give you an update once I get settled in at the beach.
